It seems to me the general sentiment around the district is that Property Tax is the way to go, as in the past income tax levies have failed far worse than property tax levies, but some say changing times call for changing measures. I think an income tax will be more appealing to those who are unemployed and are hard-pressed to meet their bills. I was participating in the Knock, Talk, and Drop when a women scolded me for knocking on her door. She then asked me to guess how much her house cost and it turned out to be $300,000 and she complained that already she is paying $6,000 a year in property taxes. Clearly, she was an individual against property taxes, it is hard to say whether she would be more impressed with an income tax.
I do have one question about income tax for school districts, is collected the same way as city income taxes (you pay the income tax for the city you work in)? If that is the case an income tax would surely appeal to those who live in the district's boundaries but work outside of them.

If a school district tax was passed, only the people who live in the school district would have to pay the tax. Not the people who work here, it's not the same as city tax. Only some people would be effected by a school district tax. Here is what I found on the State tax Dept web site.
Income that is not taxed: social security benefits; disability and survivors benefits; railroad retirement benefits; welfare benefits; child support; property received as a gift, bequest or inheritance; and workers’ compensation benefits. Income that is taxed: wages; salaries; tips; interest; dividends; unemployment compensation; self-employment; taxable scholarships and fellowships; pensions; annuities; IRA distributions; capital gains; state and local bond interest (except that paid by Ohio governments); federal bond interest exempt from federal tax but subject to state tax; alimony received; and all other sources.
I hope this helps. I'm an accountant if you have any other questions. I will try to answer them or find an answer for you.
